My work invites the viewer to take a closer look at the remnant pockets of bushland and natural vegetation close to my home in urban areas of Perth, while, further afield, I am fascinated by the rock formations and wildflowers of northern Australia. My paintings tell stories about the impact of urbanisation, conservation and the resilience of nature, and the unexpected pleasure of looking closely at the wonderfully diverse, thriving ecologies of scrubby bushland. I work primarily with acrylic paint, often incorporating mixed media elements including hand printed collage paper, charcoal and pencil, into my work.
